I need your help to pay tribute to Jess Franco
Due to today’s sad news about Jess Franco passing away I have decided that next podcast will be a tribute to this director. I have read on social networks and also on some blogs great texts about him, really good articles and moving words and I want to be able to pay tribute to him as well, but I do not want to do it alone so I’d like all of you to be part of it. From here I encourage you to help me.
It would be great if you can send some mp3s or just an e-mail showing your love to Jess Franco, talking about what he meant to you, your favorite films made by him and so on. If you feel like taking part you can send whatever you want to horrorrisesfromspain@gmail.com till next Monday (April 8)
Thanks, I hope we can do a great tribute!
Love!

When Elena Castaño was a kid she had the gift of being able to communicate with the spirits of the dead… but as she grew up she lost it. Now she and her sister Úrsula live on this, organizing fake seances in which they cheat the unwary. Elena, sick and tired of this life, has decided that tonight will be the night of her last seance. Everything is ready but there is an unexpected guest…
The Woman who Talked to the Dead is a horror comedy set in the world of spiritualism, written by Mario Parra, and the main stars are Ruxandra Oancea, Alba Messa, Rafa Casette, Cova de Alfonso, Lone Fleming, Maya Reyes, Chema Coloma, Nüll García, Gonzalo Navas, Cristina Soria, Sara Jiménez, Lucia Caraballo, Raúl del Álamo, Javier Lago, Ángela Boj, Inés Alba and Víctor Alcázar.
Many works are the inspiration of this film, works such as: M.R. James’ ghost stories, Agatha Christie, The Evil Dead, Hitchcock or even Billy Wilder. The idea is to make a movie in which people have fun while they are frightened, where people laugh just before recoiling in fright, and just right after laugh again.
